How to Take Measurements for a Sartorial Suit
Key Points: use a soft measuring tape - Stand naturally with relaxed shoulders -Have someone assist you for accuracy.
Upper Body Measurements :
- Shoulder Width – Measure from one shoulder seam to the other, following the natural curve.
- Chest Circumference – Wrap the tape around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level.
- Waist Circumference – Measure at the natural waistline (above the navel).
- Jacket Length – From the base of the neck (where it meets the shoulder) down to the desired jacket length.
- Sleeve Length – From the shoulder seam down to the wrist bone.
- Biceps & Wrist Circumference – Measure around the fullest part of the biceps and wrist. Lower Body Measurements :
- Trouser Waist – Measure around the waist where the trousers will sit.
- Hips Circumference – Measure at the fullest part of the hips.
- Thigh & Knee Circumference – Wrap the tape around the thigh and knee.
- Outseam (Pant Length) – From the waistband to the desired length.
- Inseam – From the crotch down to the ankle.
- Cuff Width – Measure the desired opening at the ankle.
